Phoenix Security Group was founded in 2016 in the Cincinnati / Northern Kentucky area to provide professional security services and defensive support. After successfully serving commercial and private clients with uniformed patrols and security coverage, PSG transitioned in 2021 to focus exclusively on training and consulting.
We provide defensive firearms training, self-defense and CQC instruction, and security risk consulting for responsible individuals, families, organizations, and businesses across Kentucky and Florida.
PSG does not provide security guard services, patrol operations, or protective details — our focus is education, preparedness, and lawful defensive skills.

Our Mission
Phoenix Security Group provides professional, experience-driven security training and consulting designed to help individuals and organizations prepare for real-world threats in a lawful, responsible, and practical manner.
We offer structured training in personal self-defense, close-quarters combat fundamentals, defensive weapons usage, and situational awareness, delivered through a progressive system of foundational and advanced courses. Our training philosophy is built around incremental skill development, allowing each student to advance at a pace appropriate to their abilities, experience level, and objectives.
Our instructional methodology draws from modern American and Israeli defensive training principles, adapted specifically for civilian, security, and law-enforcement-adjacent environments. Rather than relying on rigid or one-size-fits-all instruction, PSG emphasizes adaptable, principle-based techniques that can be applied responsibly across a wide range of real-world situations.
PSG instructors bring experience from U.S. military service, Israeli Defense Forces–influenced training systems, U.S. government and overseas military contractor environments, as well as law enforcement agencies. This background allows us to translate proven defensive concepts into practical, civilian-appropriate training without unnecessary complexity, ego, or intimidation.
In an era where criminal behavior increasingly adapts based on publicly available information, PSG focuses on decision-making, awareness, and responsible application of defensive skills, rather than theatrics or hype. Our goal is not to promote fear, but to foster competence, confidence, and accountability.
We offer both private and group instruction, ranging from standardized courses to highly customized training and consulting engagements based on individual, organizational, or facility-specific needs.
Training is conducted locally in Kentucky, Florida, regionally at host sites, and—where appropriate—through private, invitation-only sessions. Certain private training events are not listed publicly. If you are interested in hosting a class or arranging customized training at your property, facility, or range, we encourage you to contact us directly. Many of our training sessions are private or hosted by request. If you don’t see a class listed, reach out—we may already be training near you.
